A Granddaughter’s Reflection on the Loss of Her Grandfather

Grandparents are very special and can have a huge impact for good in the lives of their grandchildren. This must have been true of George Stiekes, grandfather of our daughter-in-law, Erin Hall.

Erin just graduated from Bob Jones University, earning a degree in English. She entered an article she wrote into an English competition at BJU in the category of creative nonfiction. The topic of the piece was the death of her grandpa, a long-time pastor who had passed away very recently at the time of writing.

The piece was published on the website of BJU’s literary magazine, and is a very touching and honoring tribute to her grandfather, Pastor Stiekes. I appreciate Erin giving me permission to share this. Read and be blessed.
