Do you know how to read your Bible properly?
One of the most important steps in strengthening both our own faith and the faith of our children is through learning to read our Bible’s properly.
The Bible, though one book, is a library of many different types of literature, all of which require a different type of reading.
These different types include historical narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, parables, prophecy, law, letters, and apocalyptic literature.
If we try to read poetry (such as the Psalms) like a historical narrative, we are going to end up confused. If we read apocalyptic language as historical narrative, we will definitely end up confused!
Our young people should understand that the Bible really does have the answers for their lives, as it is given to us by our Creator.
But we first have to understand “how” to read it properly.
