There is an account in the Bible of a group of people who were approached with some “new truth.” Some followers of Jesus were sharing the news of Christ with this group. These people handled this news in a very commendable way, as they began to deal with things that would not have been easy for them to deal with. We know this group today simply as “the Bereans;” people who heard out the Apostle Paul, and then went to search out the matter for themselves. They ended up finding the truth in the end.
It is not easy to deal with “new truth” when we find it sitting in front of us. On this episode we discuss a simple story which illustrates this in a fun way. After reading this little story on the podcast, we discuss “Four Reactions to Uncomfortable Realities.”
In the field of Bible/science research, surprising results frequently come to light. How can we properly navigate new ideas which push us out of our comfort zones? What should we do (and not do) with those little “dragons” that appear on the end of our beds (like Billy in the story)?
Also on this episode, Jennifer and I discuss the location of Eden, the first place mentioned in the Bible. When talking about Eden we are not discussing some place in a land far, far away. Contrary to popular belief, we can understand from the Scriptures where the general location of this very important place was, on this earth.
