Another Chapter Begins

I am thrilled to be accepted by Christian Bible Church of Cissna Park, Illinois, as their pastor.

When our family moved to Illinois in 2019, one of the first things we wanted to do was find a new church home. Eventually we visited a small church that I had discovered online, situated just outside of a mid-western farming town in Central Illinois called Cissna Park.

Little did we know when we walked into this church on that Sunday morning that this would not only become our church home, but also that in almost exactly five years, I would become the pastor of this congregation.

Our family has grown to love the dear folks at Christian Bible Church. Over these five years we have had many good times together, as well as some challenging times. This church has ministered to us in ways they will never know. We are very thankful for the Lord’s leading, and for the church now calling me as pastor of this loving family, whom we already know so well.

We plan to continue on in our important apologetics ministry with Truth in Time, and The BC Messenger podcast, in more of a part-time manner, while also serving the congregation of CBC.

God is always surprising us. The church has been searching for a pastor for nearly a year, and I initially had no intention of taking on the role of pastor any time soon. But as a young preacher said in a service I was sitting in recently, “Sometimes the Lord may just be telling you to step up to meet a need that is right in front of you.”

I do not know all that God may be doing, but our family simply wants to serve Him wherever He leads, and in whatever ways He leads. He has always been our Guide, and He has always been good to us. And we are delighted that He has led us to minister to our dear church family at Christian Bible Church.
