Is This World Doomed or Redeemed?

I believe in revival. I believe God takes doomed and dead things and brings them back to life again.

I believe this because I am a Christian—a Christ-follower.

A photo one of our children took last spring.

The essence of believing in Jesus Christ is knowing that He is all that we seek.

The Way.

The Truth.

The LIFE.

God is in the business of reviving and redeeming.

He takes what is dead, breathes life into it, and resurrects it.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him…

Ephesian 2:4-6

He takes what is cursed and restores it.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:17

No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.

Revelation 22:3

He takes what is enslaved and redeems it.

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin… if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:34-36

Yes, things that are dead can come back to life again. That is the point of the entire arc of this world’s history. What was cursed has been redeemed through Christ.

When Jesus, having offered Himself up for us as the sacrifice for sin, walked out of the grave on the third day, the world changed forever. He brought new life into a dead world.

I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?

John 11:25-26

On this Easter weekend, we joyfully celebrate this for ourselves individually, for our families, our churches, our communities, and our world.

Do you believe this?
